July 19 (SeeNews) - The main equity indices of the Zagreb Stock Exchange (ZSE) fell on Monday for a fifth straight trading session, as the total turnover in regular trading increased, bourse data showed.
The ZSE's blue-chip 18-share benchmark CROBEX index declined 0.96%, closing at 1,915.69 points.
The narrower of the ZSE's two blue-chip indices, the CROBEX10, which tracks the leading companies in terms of free float, market capitalisation and liquidity, lost 0.79% to finish at 1,181.14 points.
Shipping company Atlantska Plovidba [ZSE:ATPL] generated the biggest daily turnover, of 1.4 million kuna ($220,000/187,000 euro). Its shares closed 4.28% lower at 403 kuna.
Monday's second biggest trading turnover, of 770,000 kuna, was contributed by hotel operator Valamar Riviera [ZSE:RIVP]. Its shares closed at 26.80 kuna, down 0.74%.
Shares of alcoholic drinks and confectionery producer Zvecevo [ZSE:ZVCV-R-A] rose by 24.32% to close at 46 kuna in a turnover of 3,100 kuna, building further on its gains of 16.35% on Friday and 33.61% on Thursday. On Wednesday the companny said that its shareholders would consider a proposal for the sale of part of the company's assets related to spirits production.
The biggest loser on Monday was hotel operator Hoteli Jadran [ZSE:HJDR], whose shares will be delisted from the bourse's its regular market segment as of Tuesday. On Monday, they dropped 48.39% to close at 40 kuna in a turnover of 20,000 kuna.
Shares of sugar producer Viro [ZSE:VIRO] fell 15.94% to finish at 23.20 kuna in a turnover of some 4,000 kuna. Viro has been in pre-bankruptcy proceedings since the end of the last year.
The bourse's total regular trading turnover rose to 7.3 million kuna on Monday from 4.3 million kuna on Friday.
