November 11 (SeeNews) - Telekom Albania, a unit of Greek wireless operator Cosmote, posted an 20.2% rise in earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) in the first nine months, excluding impact of restructuring costs, to 13.1 million euro ($14.2 million), Cosmote's parent, Greek telecoms group OTE, said on Thursday.
In the period January-September, Telekom Albania's revenue increased to 48.3 million euro, up 7.1% from a year earlier, telecoms group OTE said in its third quarter financial report.
Telekom Albania's EBITDA margin increased to 27.1% in the period under review, from 24.2% a year earlier.
Telekom Albania competes with Vodafone Albania, Eagle Mobile, and Plus Commuication, a unit of Kosovo’s postal and telecommunications operator PTK, in the country of 2.8 million people.
Telekom Albania’s customer base totalled 1.9 million subscribers as of end-September.
In Southeastern Europe, Cosmote also has operations in Romania.
