February 3 (SeeNews) - Bulgaria’s State Enterprise Radioactive Waste (SERAW) intends using a grant from the Kozloduy International Decommissioning Support Fund (KIDSF) towards the cost of solid wastes treatment project, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) said on Friday.
SERAW invites tenders for the activities including retrieval of the wastes, volume reduction and treatment into the form of solidified drums suitable for conditioning and final disposal, EBRD said in a statement.
KIDSF, which was set up under a framework agreement between the EBRD and the Bulgarian government, assists in restructuring, upgrading and modernisation of the energy production, transmission and distribution sectors as well as in improving energy efficiency.
The contract should be awarded in December. The work shall be completed in no more than 84 calendar months.
The tender procedure will be divided into two stages - technical proposal without any reference to prices and updated technical tender incorporating all changes.
First stage tenders must be delivered by April 27.
