August 30 (SeeNews) - Bulgaria's road infrastructure agency, API, relaunched on Tuesday the tender for the development and implementation of an electronic toll collection system with an indicative value of 200 million levs ($116 million/102.3 million euro) after the competition regulator rejected the complaint of local firm Property Stan.
Interested parties can submit their offers by September 26 and the winner will have 19 months to complete the project, the road agency said in a statement.
Property Stan's complaint was the third, submitted on the tender, as the first one, filed by Markhinzhenering was rejected by the competition regulator and the Supreme Appellate Court. The second complaint was also initiated by Markhinzhenering, but it has not been reviewed so far.
The toll tax will cover 16,317 km of roads and will be based on distance travelled for vehicles heavier than 3.5 tonnes, while for lighter vehicles it will be calculated on a time basis.
