September 29 (SeeNews) - Bulgaria's regional development ministry said that the drawing of a feasibility study for the construction of a railway line connecting Sofia to Thessaloniki in Greece will be a project of strategic importance for the two countries.
Bulgaria and Greece intend to seek EU funding for the feasibility study under the cooperation programme Interreg V-A Greece-Bulgaria 2021-2027, the Bulgarian regional development ministry said in a statement on Monday.
The planned railway line will pass next to the Kulata-Promachonas border crossing, according to the statement.
