October 13 (SeeNews) - The number of construction permits issued in Croatia in August increased by 29% on the year, reaching 610, the statistics office said on Thursday.
The number of building permits issued in the first eight months of the year rose by an annual 22.8% to 4,789, the statistics office said in a statement.
The number of permits issued for buildings in August increased 26.4% on the year, reaching 507, while the number of permits issued for civil engineering works surged 43.1% to 103.
The planned value of works covered by the total number of construction permits issued in August reached 1.97 billion kuna ($289.3 million/262.3 million euro).
Out of the total number of permits issued in August, 418 were for new construction, while 192 related to reconstructions.
According to the permits issued in August, 733 dwellings were planned, up 64.3% on the year.
