February 16 (SeeNews) - Bucharest-based Unilever South Central Europe, part of transnational consumer goods group Unilever, said on Tuesday that it named Ana-Maria Paslaru as its new managing director starting March 1.
Paslaru replaces James Simmons who held the managing director position for three years, Unilever South Central Europe said in a press release.
Simmons will remain in the company in a new role, working closely with Unilever's executive leadership team.
Paslaru started her career at Unilever in 2007 and has since held several positions in the marketing and customer marketing departments of the company. Since 2015, Paslaru has been coordinating Unilever's business in the Baltic States and holding the position of EE Category Lead Home Care.
Unilever is a British-Dutch multinational consumer goods company, with headquarters in London and Rotterdam. Its products include food, energy drink, ice cream, tea, cleaning agents, beauty products, and personal care products.
Unilever South Central Europe coordinates Unilever's marketing and sales operations in Romania, Bulgaria, Serbia, Montenegro and Moldova.
In November 2019, Unilever South Central Europe took over a 75% stake in Romanian food chain Good People for an undisclosed sum.
In March 2019, Unilever said it has started to reduce its presence in kiosks in Romania as part of commitments it took earlier in order to obtain clearance to buy local ice cream producer Betty Ice. The Romanian competition authority conditionally approved the takeover in November 2018.
