SARAJEVO (Bosnia and Herzegovina), February 24 (SeeNews) – The number of construction permits issued in Bosnia's Serb Republic in January soared by 75% year-on-year, reaching 91, the entity's statistical office said.
The number of permits issued for residential and non-residential buildings increased by 56.4% in annual terms in January, whereas the permits for civil engineering projects skyrocketed by 130%, the Institute of Statistics of the Serb Republic said in a monthly report earlier this week.
Out of the total number of permits issued in January, 81 covered new construction projects, four were related to upgrades and extensions, while the remainder covered works for reconstruction and conversion of buildings.
Based on the number of permits issued in January, 471 dwellings were planned, up 120% year-on-year.
The number of construction permits issued in Bosnia's Serb Republic decreased by 2.8% year-on-year in 2020.
The Serb Republic is one of two autonomous entities forming Bosnia and Herzegovina. The other one is the Federation.
