October 19 (SeeNews) - The registered jobless rate in Bosnia's Federation rose slightly to 39.2% at the end of August, from 38.9% at the end of July, the entity's statistical office said.
Unemployment among women also edged up in August - to 47.4%, compared with 47.1% a month earlier, the Federation's statistical office said in a statement on Friday.
The number of unemployed people in the Federation rose 0.4% month-on-month in August, to 330,809.
The number of employed people fell to 514,087, from 516,690 in July. The economically active population in the Federation totalled 844,896 people in August.
The registered unemployment rate is calculated as the ratio of the number of unemployed to the total active population.
The Federation is one of two autonomous entities that make up Bosnia and Herzegovina. The other one is the Serb Republic.
