February 23 (SeeNews) - Bosnia's largest retailer Bingo has opened a breeding centre and an incubator for hens near the northeastern town of Kalesija, the town government said.
The company has employed 25 people in its two facilities and plans to increase production in 2022, the town government said in a press release on Monday.
The value of the investment was not disclosed.
"Through these two projects, we will have some 6.4 million eggs per year, and through the incubator, we will produce some 2.4 million laying hens," Enes Omerovic, poultry production manager at Bingo, was quoted as saying in the press release.
Bingo will export its products to the countries of the Central European Free Trade Agreement (CEFTA) and plans to start exports to the EU as well.
