November 1 (SeeNews) - The operator of Serbia's main airport, Belgrade's Nikola Tesla, said on Tuesday its net profit jumped 13% year-on-year, reaching 19 million euro ($21 million) in the first nine months of 2016.
The company's operating income increased 5% on the year to 52.8 million euro in the nine months ended September 30, while total revenues amounted to 54.4 million euro, Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport said in a statement.
In the first ten months of the year, the airport serviced 4.25 million passengers and is well on its way to meet its target of 5 million passengers in 2016, up from last year's record high of 4.8 million.
In October alone, the airport registered a monthly record of 438,980 passengers, up 9% on the year. The rate of increase was the largest monthly percentage growth in passenger numbers this year, the airport operator said.
Also in October, 5,098 takeoffs and landings were performed at the airport, an increase of 5% compared to the same period last year.
