December 5 (SeeNews) - Belgrade airport operator Aerodrom Nikola Tesla [BEL:AERO] said its net profit rose by 22% on the year to 21.6 million euro ($23 million) in the first ten months of 2016.
The operating revenue generated in January-November rose by 5% year-on-year to 58.9 million euro, the airport operator said in a statement on Friday.
The total number of passengers serviced at the airport in the first eleven months of 2016 went up by 2% on the year to 4,580,739, the airport operator said.
The number of takeoffs and landings edged down 0.06% on an annual basis to 54,362 through November, while cargo traffic grew 10% to 12,563,740 kg, the airport said on its website.
November was the fifth straight month with a rise in passenger traffic at the airport. In the eleventh month of 2016 alone, the number of passengers handled at Belgrade airport climbed 11% on the year to 331,242, the biggest rise for a single month on an annual basis since the beginning of 2016, the company said.
The number of takeoffs and landings increased 4% to 4,045, while cargo traffic dropped 30% to 948,488 kg in November. More than 90% of November takeoffs were carried out without delays.
The majority state-owned airport operator said that last week it paid a total of 300 million dinars ($2.6 million/2.4 million euro) to the Serbian government in the form of interim dividend on 2016 earnings.
