December 20 (SeeNews) - Passengers traffic at Belgrade airport has exceeded the record-high volume booked in all of 2015, airport operator Aerodrom Nikola Tesla [BEL:AERO] said on Tuesday, eleven days before the close of 2016.
The record-high number of 4,776,164 passengers processed last year has been exceeded, the marketing director of Aerodrom Nikola Tesla, Miodrag Mirkovic, told Serbian state-owned broadcaster Radio Televizija Srbije (RTS).
"As of today, we count the increase compared to last year and this is an absolute record for Nikola Tesla airport," Mirkovic said.
The total number of passengers serviced at the airport in January-November 2016 went up by 2% on the year to 4,580,739.
The airport's net profit rose by 22% year-on-year, reaching 21.6 million euro ($22.4 million) in the first ten months of 2016.
Earlier this month, Tanjug news agency quoted the general director of Aerodrom Nikola Tesla, Sasa Vlaisavljevic, as saying that the airport operator expects the number of passengers processed in 2016 to reach 4.9 million.
Aerodrom Nikola Tesla shares traded without change at 1,156 dinars as of 13:30 CET on Tuesday, up 0.09%. The stock reached a 2016 high of 1,210 dinars on December 12.
