December 4 (SeeNews) - At least 10 companies are interested in investing in North Macedonia's thermal power plant TEC Negotino, the country's prime minister Zoran Zaev said.
A feasibility study of the strategic options for TEC Negotino will be completed at the beginning of 2021 and then the government will decide whether it will privatise the power plant through a full sale or a public-private partnership, Zaev told a news conference streamed on the government's Youtube channel on Thursday.

Currently, about 70 foreign companies from the energy industry, including Germany's RWE and Greece's PPC are interested in investing in different energy projects in North Macedonia, Zaev said, without revealing further details.
In November, Zaev said the country is considering a partial or full privatisation of TEC Negotino and several other state-controlled companies.
TEC Negotino started operating in 1978. The fuel oil-fired power plant has not produced electricity for more than ten years, mostly due to high production costs.
