TIRANA (Albania), September 18 (SeeNews) – Albania's largest seaport of Durres handled 2.5 million tonnes of cargo in the first eight months of 2020, down 9% year-on-year, Durres port authority said.
The decrease of the volume of processed goods was due to the restrictions on maritime transport introduced over the coronavirus pandemic, the port authority said in a statement earlier this week.
The goods handled in January-August 2020 were carried by 380 cargo ships and 486 ferries.
In 2019, the port of Durres handled 4.72 million tonnes of cargo, up 13% year-on-year.
