TIRANA (Albania), February 26 (SeeNews) – The number of building permits issued in Albania in 2020 fell by 12.2% to 961, the national statistical agency, INSTAT, said on Friday.
The estimated value of approved construction projects last year decreased by 5.2% to 76.6 billion leks ($752.8 million/624.2 million euro), INSTAT said in an annual report.
In the fourth quarter alone, the number of building permits rose by 51.5% year-on-year to 306. Out of the total, 230 building permits were issued for residential buildings.
Most of the permits in the October-December period, 98, were issued for buildings in Tirana, followed by Elbasan and Durres with 39 permits each.
