December 2 (SeeNews) - Albania's deputy minister of health and social protection Mira Rakacolli said on Wednesday that the nationwide curfew imposed to limit the spread of the Covid-19 disease will remain in force indefinitely, local media reported.
The Technical Committee of Experts has decided to proceed with the anti-Covid-19 restrictions and thus, gatherings, rallies, conferences, festive and funeral ceremonies will remain prohibited, Albanian Daily News quoted Rakacolli as saying.
The public administration and universities will continue to work online.
The government introduced a curfew from 10 pm until 6 am for all citizens on November 11. Originally, the curfew was to be in force until December 2.
Albania's ministry of health and social protection set up the Technical Committee of Experts earlier this year to take precautionary measures in order to prevent and put under control the spread of the coronavirus infection.
On Tuesday, Albania confirmed 832 new Covid-19 cases, bringing the total count to 39,014, health ministry data shows. So far, 822 people have lost their lives due to the disease.
