March 15 (SeeNews) - The Romanian underfloor heating market is expected to grow at a constant rate in the coming years, reaching 120 million euro ($130.7 million) by 2028, Rehau Building Solutions, a local subsidiary of Swiss polymer solutions provider Rehau, said.
Its growth will be driven by increasing demand for energy efficiency, sustainability and smart technologies, Rehau Building Solutions said in a press release on Tuesday.
Romania's market for underfloor heating systems expanded to 90 million euro in 2023, with the residential segment accounting for over 80% of the market. The local market is dominated by hydronic systems.
In comparison, the European underfloor heating market stood at 1.1 billion euro in 2023 and is expected to grow at an annual rate of 4.9% until 2032, reaching 1.65 billion euro in 2031.
Rehau has been active on the Romanian market for 27 years. It employs 132 people in the country. In 2022, Rehau's turnover in Romania amounted to 57 million euro.
