April 25 (SeeNews) - Romanian natural gas distribution company Distrigaz Sud Retele said it invested 530 million lei ($114.1 million/106.5 million euro) in its network last year.
The investments were aimed at ensuring the safe operation of the distribution system and expanding the infrastructure, the company said in a press release on Tuesday.
The company allocated 290 million lei last year for the replacement of 145 km of pipelines and connections, 17,200 regulation-measurement posts, and 222,000 natural gas meters, it said.
Distrigaz Sud Retele also invested 240 million lei in 2023 in extension and connection works, with 580 km of pipelines put into operation, and 17,500 new connections established for 69,000 new customers connected to the network.
Distrigaz Sud Retele owns a network spanning about 23,300 km and serves more than 2 million customers. It operates in 1,358 localities across 20 counties in southern and central Romania.
