April 17 (SeeNews) - Montenegro's government plans to seek contractors for works and consultancy for a 15 million euro ($16 million) project for introducing energy efficiency measures that include solar photovoltaic installations in three public hospital buildings, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) said.
The estimated start date of the procurement procedure is April 22, the EBRD said in a statement on Tuesday.
The EBRD said earlier this month it is considering extending a 12 million euro loan towards the cost of the project.
The project aims to reduce green house gas emissions and energy consumption, yielding electricity and heating savings at the Clinical Centre of Montenegro in the capital Podgorica, which is the largest and most important hospital in the country, and at the hospitals in the northeastern town of Bijelo Polje and in the former royal capital Cetinje, the EBRD has said.
