December 14 (SeeNews) - Moldova's consumer prices rose by 5.5% year-on-year in November, decelerating from a 6.3% annual increase in October, the statistical office said.
Prices of services continued to be the main inflation driver in November, rising by an annual 7.9%, the National Bureau of Statistics said in a statement earlier this week.
Prices of food and non-food products rose by 5% and 4.2% on the year, respectively.
On a monthly comparison basis, Moldova's consumer prices inched up by 0.2% in November, slowing from a monthly rise of 0.5% recorded in October. Prices of non-food products rose by 0.9% on the month, accounting for an increase of 0.35 percentage points in average consumer prices. Food prices were up by 0.3%, while the prices of services decreased by 1.1% on the month in November.
On November 7, Moldova's central bank decided to cut its policy rate to 4.75% from 6%, aiming to bring inflation closer to its 5% medium-term target.
