April 23 (SeeNews) - Bosnia and Herzegovina's MAHLE Electric Drives Bosnia, a subsidiary of German car parts manufacturer MAHLE, opened a new 20 million euro ($21.3 million) factory in Laktasi, the government of the Serb Republic entity said on Tuesday.
The plant is projected to boost the total employee count from the current 600 to 1,000, the Serb Republic's government said in a press release.
The new factory spans across 30,908 sq m of interior space and 37,600 sq m of exterior space, according to an earlier statement by local construction company Baupartner, which constructed the factory.
MAHLE Electric Drives Bosnia already operates a car parts factory in Laktasi, according to MAHLE's website.
The Serb Republic is one of two autonomous entities that form Bosnia and Herzegovina. The other one is the Federation.
