April 19 (SeeNews) - Bulgarian car battery manufacturer Elhim Iskra [BUL:ELHM] said on Friday that it booked a preliminary gross loss of 790,000 levs ($431,347/403,919 euro) in the first quarter of 2024 against a profit of 190,000 levs in the comparable period of last year.
Elhim Iskra generated a sales revenue of some 10.31 million levs in January-March, the company said in a bourse filing. In comparison, the company posted sales of 12.52 million levs in the same period of 2023.

In March alone, the battery maker turned a preliminary loss of 209,000 levs on revenue of some 3.37 million levs. It compared to a profit of 143,000 levs on sales of 4.51 million levs in March 2023.
The Pazardzhik-based company, part of local diversified group Stara Planina Hold [BUL:SPH], projects revenue from sales of 3.3 million levs for April, down from 3.48 million levs in the same month last year.
As of 1340 CET on Friday, shares in Elhim Iskra traded 2.56% higher at 0.80 levs on the Bulgarian Stock Exchange.
