April 10 (SeeNews) - Auchan Romania, a subsidiary of French retailer Auchan, said on Wednesday that it opened its first ATAC Hiper Discount hypermarket located on the site of one of its Auchan stores in the central city of Brasov.
The rebranding is part of the retailer's new strategy of offering different prices depending on the quantity bought by clients, thanks to product range optimizations and reduced operating expenses, Auchan Romania said in a press release.
The new ATAC Hiper Discount by Auchan hypermarket spans 6,000 sq m and offers an array of 17,000 food and non-food products. This new store concept will offer clients the opportunity to save on every visit, including through a "cascade" price policy, through which the price per unit of a product decreases as the number of units bought increases.
The hyper discount concept is targeting customers from all levels of purchasing power, offering them a varied assortment consisting of 60% food products and 40% non-food products manufactured both in Romania and abroad.
Auchan Romania currently operates 430 locations, including 30 classic hypermarkets, 3 discount hypermarkets, 7 supermarkets, 1 Auchan Go store, and almost 400 MyAuchan ultra-proximity stores.
